Jennifer Lopez In Tears As She Becomes First Woman To Receive Icon Award At 2014 Billboard Music Awards (VIDEO)

Jennifer Lopez was honored at Billboard Music Awards on Sunday as the first woman to receive the Icon Award.

Lopez, 44, couldn't fight her tears from falling and thanked her fans and all the members of her family, including her children, and told boyfriend Casper Smart, 27, that she loves him.

Jennifer also had a message for "all you little ones sitting on the living room floor watching the TV right now, just like I used to do when I was back in the Bronx."

"Have faith. Dream big. Think big. And know that anything is possible," Lopez was quoted as saying, adding: "You never know where you might end up."

The honor, a lifetime achievement award for an artist's contributions to pop music, has previously been given to Stevie Wonder, Neil Diamond and - last year - Prince.

Lopez's special night also featured performances of her new track "First Love" and her World Cup anthem collaboration with Pitbull and Claudia Leitte.
